Sustainable Concrete

At their request Chris A Clear, BRMCA Director, presented Sustainable Concrete at the Portuguese Concrete Day held in Lisbon on 1 June 2017, where there were over 150 attendees.  The Concrete Day coincided with an article about the history and activities of BRMCA published in the Portuguese Concrete Journal, Betão. ERMCO Representatives Meeting

Steve Crompton, Chair BRMCA and Chris A Clear attended the ERMCO Representative meeting in Prague on 16 June 2017.  Presentations included the implementation of the Cement Sustainability Council Responsible Sourcing Scheme from the viewpoints of the provider, regional administrator and the adopter.  Progress on developing a harmonized response for the Conformity assessment revision of the European Standard for Concrete, EN 206 was covered as well as initial consideration of the negative comments to the 'Assessment of in-situ strength standard…', EN 13791.

Highways England – Roller Compacted Concrete

The Highways England/Britpave/MPA project to include RCC in the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges is well underway, with a second draft of the Specification for Highway Works and Notes for Guidance Series 1000 circulated for comment in June 2017.

BRMCA Excellence in Customer Service Award 2017
