High RiseSpecialist concrete designs have been developed specifically for the concrete frame market, offering a quick turn round time and high quality surface finishes. These cover:
High early strength concrete is highly desirable for high rise construction as it increases turn around time and offers improved on site efficiency. High early strengths can be achieved by the introduction of silica fume into the concrete and/or by the inclusion of other specialist admixtures. High strength concrete (HSC) is related to the above, but is not quite the same, as high strength concrete relates to the ultimate strength of the structure rather than the initial 1 or 2 day strength achieved by the specification of high early strength concrete. The use of silica fume within ready mixed concrete provides a dense structure and offers excellent chemical and abrasion resistance, serving to significantly extend the service life of the product. HSC offers benefits to the client in terms of design, reducing slab and column widths and therefore creating a more sustainable design and reducing costs. Self compacting concrete (SCC) is ideal for use within columns and slabs as it offers an easy and convenient method of construction. These concretes can combine high strength and self compacting qualities and have been specifically developed to ease the previously labour intensive methods of placement. To place an order for concrete please specify the type of work being undertaken and the initial description shown above. Our member companies will then discuss your specific needs with you. The Concrete Centre, provide further information on how to effectively and efficiently design in concrete and the benefits of concrete. Please visit www.concretecentre.com for more information. |
